One of the best aspects about working with the P3 team is that you get to work with people who really understand the business of medicine.
The P3 team is much more than the handful of people represented on the About page. A number of talented individuals contribute to the P3 platform, one of the services we offer here at Mudbug Media. These team members all have an important role in the websites of several hundreds of practices and doctors.
To help you get to know more about our team, we’ll be posting interviews with some of our key team members. First up is Bertha Chicas, Senior Account Manager. If you have an inquiry about a website or need an update to your current P3 site, Bertha is the person you’ll be chatting with.
How long have you worked at Mudbug Media, and how did you first learn about the company?
I’ve been at Mudbug for six and a half years. I actually hadn’t heard about Mudbug, until seeing the job posting for a Project Coordinator on worknola.com. After checking out the company website, it seemed like a cool place to work – an interesting and impressive client portfolio, paid home internet, and awesome location.
What are some of your primary responsibilities in relation to the P3 platform?
I manage all of our P3 clients/projects from project initiation to post launch. With new P3 Connect, Redesign, and Marketing projects, I handle potential inquiries – answering any/all questions about our platform, including offerings and pricing; providing project agreements and ensuring billing is handled appropriately; gathering all project assets; adding/assigning projects to the queue; ensuring any updates/requests are completed and launched upon approval. Once launched, I manage any updates and additional requests.

What do you like most about working at Mudbug Media?
Every day and every project is different at Mudbug, which really keeps things exciting. Also, I love the team environment. In my role, I work with all three different departments (Programming, Front End Design, and Marketing).
Before working at Mudbug Media, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?
Right before working at Mudbug, I was working for an immersion charter school here in New Orleans called The International School of Louisiana. It was interesting to speak Spanish in an office setting with my boss and being surrounded by children learning to speak Spanish and French. Nothing like a kindergartener walking up to you asking about le bibliothèque.
When you’re not working, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I love traveling (if only I had more vacation days and airline miles), trying new food, seeing live music, reading (I’m actually in a book club – or maybe it’s a wine club?), and spending time with my puppy Gilligan (he’s actually 8 years old).
If you could choose anyone, who would you pick as your mentor?
Oprah. She has one of the most inspiring rags to riches story, coming from nothing and becoming one of the most successful minority women in the world. She is powerful, has developed her own brand (TV, magazine, production, etc), and is a household name. I admire her work ethic. And remember when I mentioned book club?
